I have returned to the safespace of blogging! Although, I don't consider myself a good blogger? I like to just jot down my experiences, it used to be a way for me to vent about my awful college experience and just rant about things normally. But for a while now, I mainly wanted to get a Thinkpad. Actually, over a year now? Holy shit dude time passes so fast. Let me completely be vulnerable here, I only have started to remember this blogging thingy due to Tommyinnit's Blog. I've been a really huge fan of Tom for YEARS ever since I was 14, way before my Halley Labs era. I remember begging Santa for a L'manberg flag for Christmas in late 2021 LOL. So seeing another one of the people I look up to (like em essex) to actually start blogging too, and it helped me return to blogging aswell.
So what am I going to do? Well, I am working to start game development on my fangame project but unfortunately my family has other plans for me (I'm being forced to basically sign up for the Military or go homeless, no matter how much money I make). I had recently quit my job due to my issues with mismanagement and I was just fed up with it. I only worked 3 days a week, 6-8.5 hours a shift, with only $15 (United States Dollar, I am American and I hate it) for each hour I worked so I am barely surviving. I suppose I can come up with a compromise instead of working in toxic mismanagement HELL. So, before I am sent off to god knows where, I do wish for a way to convince my parents to get me a Thinkpad so I can just blog my experiences while I'm away using Fedora Linux (I use Arch Linux on my main computer anyways).
I use a 13 year old computer from 2012
Even though I will email this blog to Tom anyways, hoping he reads this with the acknowledgement about my unhinged behavior behind a computer screen. I do admire his work and what he does now, dedicating his time to making people genuinely smile and I have been really grateful to have discovered his content during my early computing days (on a broken Asus Vivobook Flip 14, I was reading fanfiction solely because I was bored). If it werent for him to make that silly energetic or sometimes down to earth content in general when I was at the time, a very closeted teen, I don't know where I would be today. It was genuinely one of the best things to come across, and I enjoyed those moments looking at the screen just laughing. Now, my family laughs along with me, and I am grateful. So, Tom, if you are reading this, thank you for accidentally leading-me-into-a-self-discovery-rabbit-hole-regarding-computing-and-self-identity-also-the-reactionary-quirks-of-fandom-in-general, it gave me an inch bit more sentience and a bit more understanding of the importance of being truly authentic regarding one's self. But yeah I have fully returned to blogging now, uhm, expect me to write a bit more about some "deep edgy thoughts" while drinking coffee or a monster (if I'm lucky).
